James first soloed an airplane in June, 1972. However he had been riding in them much earlier as his father (Melvin) was a career test pilot and an avid aerobatic pilot. James left the flying path on several occasions during which time he obtained a degree in business followed by a law degree. Ultimately he returned to his true passion and roots- flying!
James enjoys introducing people from all walks of life to the joy of open cockpit biplane flying. He has done so at several other sights covering a total of nine years flying both the Stearman and Waco biplanes. James has over 6,000 logged flight hours between single and twin engine aircraft. He has flown everything from biplanes to jets and holds the highest obtainable airman certificate, the airline transport pilot license. James has also flight instructed in gliders and introduced many to the joy of soaring.
James enjoys what he does so much that he opened his own biplane sight seeing business and looks forward to his next flight with you as Co-pliot aboard the historical Stearman biplane. Come enjoy!
